YGF 2012 (17th Yogyakarta gamelan Festival)

YGF 2012

This event will start tomorrow, July 5th till 7th (7.30 pm - 11.00 pm), at Koesnadi Hardjosoemantri cultural center building (ex Purna Budaya UGM). There will be twelve local and international groups of gamelan musicians who will perform their musical skills and promote gamelan as a powerful unifier of people around the world.

The musicians from US, Malaysia, East Java’s Madura, West Java’s Bandung and Yogyakarta will participate and perform their gamelan musical skills in this event under the theme "Why". 'Why gamelan?' This is a simple question (as the theme), but it takes serious thought to answer. This event's expected to open our mind why gamelan becomes an important part to unite the nations, why many people around the world (35 countries) play and develop the gamelan, why..why..and finally why don't you come and get the spirit of gamelan??It's FREE guys!!

"The Art of Getting By" Movie (Soundtrack List)

Film indie ini cukup menarik, bercerita tentang seorang siswa yang introvert, malas mengerjakan tugas, sehingga sering mendapatkan teguran dari guru maupun kepala sekolahnya (Ouch, that was so me teens). Diperankan oleh Freddie Highmore (the august rush) dan Emma Roberts. Pada awalnya, film ini ditayangkan dengan judul Homework pada Sundance Film Festival 2011 (FYI,Sundance film festival merupakan suatu festival film bergengsi di AS).

Anyway, besides the story that shows the life of a misanthrope-cute-slacker, I also really enjoy the music. We can say that too much indie here. The soundtrack list below are so d*mn cool.

Dengan didukung musik yang bagus, ni film menjadi tidak hanya sekedar film anak remaja sekolahan pada umumnya yang biasa saja (even the tweens can enjoy this movie,lol). Dari 12 lagu di atas, yang paling aku suka tentu karyanya Alec Puro, but the others, such as French Kicks and Pavement, are still cool anyway. Selamat menonton, selamat menikmati musiknya.

It's been so long when I first heard this song. Dealing with many unpredictable days, I'm getting so moooody to do the post especially about this band.

Generationals,,sounds a lil bit weird,,tapi sebenere lagu-lagunya asik buat didenger. Indie-pop band ini berasal dari New Orleans (ngendi kui??)yang lagunya pertama kali aq denger titled 'Either way' (most fav) sbg OST movie 'Going the Distance'(FYI,,ni filmnya juga baguss lho).

Doodoododo…..it’s music time!! Let’s shake the body and cheer “yeahhh”!!
Bruises by the chairlift can be your alternative song. It’s not a hard music, easy listening, catchy I think. I heard that song from my local radio (always Geronimo, hehe..). Chairlift is an electronic pop group. The players are : Aaron Pfenning (songwriting/electronics/guitar), Caroline Polachek (songwriting/synthesizer), and Patrick Wimberly (drums/keyboard/production). And they're from New York!!

First, I thought that it’s one of old songs I’ve never heard before. But, yeah, this is the fresh one. I’ve listened to this song many times, soooo….many. The lyric makes me laugh cuz I know that some people will do a kind of that stupid things (oups, perhaps they call it as not a stupid thing, but they just havent’t realized that), including me, haghagaga (it was the past guys, now am trying to run away from that stupidity). Being so black and blue for someone??….How stupid of me!
Come on, wake up buddies, enjoy that music!
